Earth Hour is a worldwide initiative organized by World Wide Fund for Nature, which has grown from a single lights-off event in Sydney, Australia in 2007, to a global event that engages more than 7,000 cities and towns worldwide.

For the sixth year in a row, Ooredoo will join monuments and companies around the world on Saturday (March 29) in marking Earth Hour, by switching off all the lights and non-essential systems at both tower in West Bay and its Airport HQ2, for one hour from 8:30pm.

THOUGHTS: Side A Band, Nina, and the Sizzling Brownies

Side A and Nina in Qatar: One Night Only
Obviously, Nina and Side A Band are two of finest singing artists in the Philippines. Kaya naman when I've learned that they will have their concert here in Doha, and my college friend offered tickets, xempre gora na agad ang lola nyo. Me, Pardz and Bunso, together with 3 others, reyding reydi na sa pagpasoks a Al Gharaffa Sports Club, or so we thought - Delayed by 3 freaking hours ang concert!

Organizers said that they were not informed of the basketball game, same time with the concert. They even had spokespersons, they call themselves as USHERS, nungka, babae kaya sila. Hours passed by, but no information was given to the crowd. Organizers were not really organized. They should have informed the crowd the moment they knew that there will be some delay. They should have tell us to go on a queue according to our tickets, and not like this:

"sa left po and ladies, sa right po ang gents!"
Then another one said: "4 na linya po tao, 4 na linya!"
Then another one said: "dun po sa kabila, pwede po kayong pumasok habang naghihintay, pero lalabas din po after ng basketball game..."

Ang ending, isang linya lang, para sa lahat ng audience.
The Super Audience! Front Bleacher
The Super Audience! Side Bleachers
Si ateng, galit na galit na sa kabilang line, asking for a ticket refund, which is impossible. Buti na lang, me and my friends considered the venue as casual and not formal so we all wore comfy get ups. I pity those girlash who attended the concert, wearing floral mini dress (yes, it's floral!) , and a 3in high heels. Goodluck naman.  3 long hours of waiting, pagpasok namin sa gym, walng chairs na available! Ang ending, we sat down on the carpet from 9PM-12MN! Kawawang 250QAR and 200QAR, they were expecting that we will still be organized inside. Unfortunately, kaming mga 150QAR, sinwerteng naunang nakapasok, and napunta sa harap! Yihaa!!!! Sorry Guys, i thik it was first come first serve... :D
Joey Generoso - Lead vocals, guitar and Leevon Cailao - Lead guitar, vocals

Philippines' Soul Siren, NINA

Nevertheless, we tried our best not to be affected by the flaws and glitches. We just had fun, fun, fun!  Kahit na yung FREE sizzling brownies eh hindi na na avail for free, dahil malamang hindi na yun sizzling. It's a very good experience indeed. Cheering with a great crowd, and singing with a premiere artists in our country. Good job Nina and Side A!!!

For the organizers, well, try to be organized next time. We don't blame you for the glitches, but at least, learn how to pacify the crowd. That's important. Be part of the crowd, without telling "VOLUNTEER LANG PO KAMI DITO, AT WALA KAMING BAYAD NA NAKUKUHA..."

Define Haggard with a taste of Headbang, hahahah!

LEGAL ISSUE: Who will shoulder my Return Ticket?!

I believe this will be the very first topic here in my blogsite about legalities, between the employer and the employee whom, a month after he avail his vacation leave, he resigned:

My friend returned from his annual vacation last week. He has availed of his annual air ticket to his country as per the contract. Within a month of resuming work, he resigned. Is the employer supposed to provide him an air ticket to his country of residence?

Name withheld on request

The contract says an employer who brings a worker from his home country should provide him an air ticket when he comes to Qatar, when he goes on his annual leave and when he ends his contract.

There is no legal restriction on when these tickets can be used; however, this is governed by the agreement between the two parties.

The employer’s obligation to return the worker to his home country at the end of his services, whether he is alive or dead, is a firm obligation.

Law No. 14/2004 states: “The employer should return, at his expense, the employee to the place from where he brought him, or to a destination agreed on by both parties, when he ends his contract.”

The employer should end the process of returning the employee to the agreed destination within two weeks of the end of his contract.

In case of the employee’s death, the employer is responsible for all financial expenses incurred in returning the body to his home country.

If the sponsor fails to meet these requirements, the Ministry of Labour will return the employee, or the body, at its own expense and take administrative action against the sponsor and make him pay the costs.

The sponsor can also be fined a minimum of QR2,000 and not more than QR5,000 for not complying with the law.

I advice the questioner to approach the labour dispute office or the public relations department at the Ministry of Labour to file a complaint to get a one-way ticket from the employer.

To summarize, return ticket of any employee is not UNDER THE DISCRETION of the company but rather, it is clearly an obligation of the company to the employee. So to those of you who are experiencing the same situation, (Actually, you know who you are, someone very close to my heart...:D) don't be afraid to demand for your return ticket as you have all the right, you have just have to stand for your right.

EVENT: Food Festival in Doha

The 2014 Qatar International Food Festival (QIFF) will open for a fifth year on March 20 at the Museum of Islamic Art Park, the Qatar Tourism Authority has announced.

The four-day event, which concludes on March 23, will highlight healthy food and the Qatar-Brazil Year of Culture through cuisine and entertainment.

This is the second year the festival will be held at the MIA Park. Previously, it took place outside of the Qatar Exhibition Center.

Last year, during the 2013 festival, there were several new features, including a “dine in the sky” option, live music and special performances. The lows included that parking was limited, and the voucher system for purchasing food did spark some confusion.

Opening hours and more information about the food fest are expected to become available in the coming weeks.

THOUGHTS: I am Freakin' Out!

When I made this blogsite, I make sure that every post will contain and will spread something happy and fun, or something informative and amazing. Never did I expect that now, I am making this pessimistic post of mine just because of one stu*id, non-sense rumor. Worse, the person who spread that effin news is a Filipina! F**k them both! But I am not gonna waste my time on them. I am not gonna step down down on their muddy level. I am not gonna get even. I will just let Karma do all works for me.

And you Fu**ing whore, this one's for you - An on the spot poem JUST FOR YOU. See, how special you are. I hope you'll like it, kabit!
