INFO: Kabayan Passports on your Doorstep

http://www.iloveqatar.net/news/content/filipino-expats-passports-be-delivered-post
Filipino expatriates in Qatar will soon find it easier and convenient to receive their passports (renewed or newly issued) at an affordable cost.

The Philippine embassy in Doha and Qatar Postal Services Company (QPost) have signed an agreement to deliver passports of Filipino expatriates either to their homes or offices.

Ambassador Wilfredo Santos and QPost acting chairman of the board and managing director Abdulla Slash al-Hajri led the signing ceremony of the delivery services agreement at the Barzan Tower on Monday. It was attended by other QPost and embassy officials and staff.

According to Santos, Qatar's national courier service will charge a minimal fee of QR25 for the delivery of every passport.

“This service will make passport application more convenient for Filipinos in Qatar,” the envoy pointed out.
Santos said the arrangement will also help lessen foot traffic and decongest the embassy.

“It will have more working space for conducting other official business transactions,” he added.

The envoy also thanked former Philippine ambassador to Qatar Crescente Relacion, as well as vice-consul Kristine Bautista and other embassy officials, for initiating the project.

Quoting al-Hajri, the envoy said QPost will deliver on its commitments provided that clients complete their information accurately by specifying the street address, zone number, and building number.

Santos also thanked the Qatar government for its hospitality, hosting nearly 200,000 Filipino expatriates “who stand to benefit from the provision of passport delivery services in the country.”

As the sixth Philippine ambassador to Qatar, Santos reiterated his commitment to Filipino expatriates in the country to further enhance the embassy's services, improving its efficiency and increase customer satisfaction.
For his part, al-Hajri thanked the envoy for giving QPost the opportunity to handle the embassy's passport courier service as it expands its market reach to include the diplomatic community.

Announcing the names of THE NEW 7 WONDER CITIES, Bernard Weber, Founder-President of New7Wonders, said “I would like to thank everyone who has helped promote the New7Wonder Cities campaign since its inception in 2011. We vegan with more than 1,200 nominees from 220 different countries and here, we have 7 that represent the global diversity of urban society. For the first time in human history, more than half of our planet’s population lives in cities and this election emphasizes the dramatically challenging character of our changing world.

We congratulate each of these cities on achieving their New7Wonders status, and we look forward to celebrating their election to the ‘Canon of &’ with their citizens in 2015. The New7Wonders Cities will join the New7Wonders of Nature and the New7Wonders of the World in becoming part of Global Memory for humanity forever.”

INFO: Philippine Embassy Circular for Terminal Fee

To: All Filipinos in the State of Qatar

Subject: Department of Transportation and Communications' (DOTC) International Passenger Service Charge (IPSC)

"For information, starting 01 October 2014, DOTC will implement the IPSC Integration program. The IPSC, or commonly known as the Airport terminal Fee (P550.00), shall be incorporated into the Cost of airline tickets at point of sale.

The aim of the program is to address the congestion in all Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) terminals by reducing the processing time of passengers.

The program, will be implemented simultaneously by all airlines worldwide and shall also cover passengers transiting Manila to any destination point.

As Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) are exempted from payment of IPSC, they can refund the terminal fee, in case it was charged to them by default at NAIA terminals or at MIAA Administration Building Collection Office, Ground Floor MIA Road, Pasay City. They will be required to present the following to avail of the refund:
     1. Airport Copy of OEC
     2. E-ticket or Itinerary receipt with OR, or Invoice indicating payment of the terminal fee;
     3. Boarding pass

Enclosed is a copy of DOTC’s powerpoint presentation and MIAA’s implementing guidelines on the matter, for other details.

All Filipino Community Organizations are requested to disseminate the above advisory to all their members and other Filipinos in the State of Qatar."
