For photographers, we call it "SELF PORTRAIT"... Pero sa panahon ngayon, mas kilala ang gawaing ito sa tawag na SELFIE. And since Filipinos are one of the many nationalities who commonly do "selfie" style photography, an online advocacy is launched called "SELFIE PROTEST". This group begs to disagree on the fare hikes for the Metro Rail Transit (MRT) and Light Rail Transit (LRT) Lines in Manila.
Officials have
earlier urged the public to stay open to the possibility of fare hikes
of up to P25, noting that subsidies currently enjoyed by train commuters
could be used for other social services.
I am not sure anymore magkano na ba ang fare sa MRT/LRT. The last time I used this mode of transportation was 2008, and as far as I remember 15Php lang nun "roundtrip na" (hindi nman kasi ako bumababa, gusto ko lang maglaro lolz!). But even though I am not a commuter anymore (been working as an OFW for the last 5 years), I know a lot of rail users will be affected with the possibility of fare hikes.
And so, I posted here some of the photos that I've found online. See, may magagawa pa din pala ang pagiging selfie - you can also be an advocate. +_+
NAKIKIISA AKO! (Sigurado ko kasi, maapektuhan din kaming mga OFW)
These photos should be posted via any social media platform online, the community said in its Facebook post. Several netizens have already joined the online protest, with the first batch of photos posted in a Facebook album.
