FACT: Real Weddings - Most Expensive Weddings of all Time

So, now that we’ve seen the “reel weddings” that make us fall in love with a “fairy tale” like settings of each events, what if… we go to the “Real Weddings”, considering these are the most expensive weddings of all Time? Yes,  these may be the real “Fairy Tales” of all Time.

10.  Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes ($2 million)
Wedding Date: November 18, 2006
Location: Odescalchi Castle, Lake Bracccian, Italy
Number of Guests:150
Wedding Dress: Giorgio Armani, as well as for the Entire Party's ensemble
Honeymoon: Maldives thru a private Yacht



09. Paul McCartney and Heather Mills ($3 million)
Wedding Date: June 11, 2002
Location: St. Salvator’s Church , Castle Leslie, Glaslough, Ireland
Number of Guests: 300
Highlights: The twosome hosted an Indian themed welcome with vegetarian subsistence. The bride’s gown was of her own invent, made by London’s famed Eavis & Brown and her commendation was made of roses which were named after McCartney. After a lovely fireworks display, the link escaped to a private ait in the Seychelles for their honeymoon. (The pair divorced in 2008.)\
Honeymoon: Seychelles, and they spent their first night on a $20 Million yacht for $19,000  a night.


08. Liza Minnelli and David Gest ($3.5 million)
Wedding Date: March 16, 2002
Location: Regent Hotel on Wall Street, New York City, New York
Highlights: Backed by a 60-ruined orchestra, Tony Bennett entertained VIPs who feasted on a 12-row wedding cake and received initialled favors encased in satin confectionery boxes embossed with “Liza and David 4 Yet”. Performers Paula Abdul, Tony Bennett, Bobby Brown, the nonconformist Doobie Brothers, Gloria Gaynor, Monica, Donny Osmond, The Sign Sisters, Paul Shaeffer, Usher, and Dionne Warwick entertained guests.



07.  Elizabeth Hurley & Arun Nayar ($7 million)
Wedding Date: March 3 & 9, 2007
Location: Sudeley Castle, Gloucestershire, England and Umaid Bhawan Palace, Jodhpur, India
Number of Guests: 300
Highlights: Hurley wore a traditional chiffon gown designed by good friend Donatella Versace. A second traditional Hindu ceremony was held in the majestic Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur, India where a palace-view suite costs more than $10,000 a night.

Highlights: Add to a wealthy bride a wealthy groom with a family with a wine dynasty business and you’ve got a splendid party, with of course, plenty of fine wines. They couple wed in 2005 at the Cote d’ Azur in France. The venue was decorated with 5,000 white roses. Harper’s Bazaar called it the “Wedding of the Year”.



05. Wayne Rooney & Coleen McLoughlin ($15 million)
Location: The 4 day wedding ceremony took place in Villa Durazzo in Portofino Italy on June 12, 2008
Highlights: With stunning views of the Italian Rivera on a yacht with 64 guests flown in on five different private jets, the ambiance was beautiful. After spending almost $4 million dollars on a dress designed by Georgia Chapman’s Marchesa label, guests had to wonder if the budget had run out after being served pizza for the reception. In the end, they were able to cut costs of $5 million by allowing Britain’s OK! Magazine to publish exclusive information and pictures about the event, that is, after the pizza was served.





04. Vikram Chatwal and Priva Sachdey ($20 million)
Let’s make it an even 20 after 15, that is, $20 mil, and then everything will be up to par for the wedding of Vikram Chatwal, son of a New York hotel magnet and a jet-setting hotelier and actor and for his model/actress/investment banker bride, Priya Sachdey (who ever said a man couldn’t have it all). The wedding took place on February 18th, 2006 and is known as one of the most luxurious weddings ever in all of India. Bill Clinton was on the guest list along with many other well-known, high-powered people. The wedding took place over 10 days and was spread across 3 cities in India (Mumbai, Udaipur, and Delhi). There were 600 guests from 26 countries who were all retrieved for the event on chartered jets. 

03. Miss Yugoslavia Aleksandra Kokotovic and Andrey Melnichenko ($30 million)
Wedding Date: September 3, 2005
Location: Cote d’Azur, France

Highlights: Christina Aguilera and Whitney Houston were each paid $3.6 million to perform at the wedding. A lot of vodka and caviar.



02.  Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Princess Salama ($44.5 million)
Highlights: His extraction built a stadium big ample to hold 20,000 people for the juncture, which lasted an astounding seven days. A three months of a century later, it is in addition listed as the most up-market wedding in the Guinness Register of World Records.
Sheikh Mohammed parkway his horse to every village and fed everybody. The entire city was in praising for 30 days in the presence of the marriage. There hasn’t been an result like it since.

(Bhatia is the grandson of London socialites, Pasha and Kamal Saigal. Mittal is the daughter of London steel tycoon Lakshmi Mittal, the fourth wealthiest man in the world.)
Wedding Date: November 18, 2004 Location: Vaux le Vicomte, a 17th-century French chateau
Number of Guests: 1,000

Highlights:
      Vanisha's wedding was in a word most expensive, gorgeous and lavish. It was continuing more than six days at a stretch. At least 1000 guests were invited to that occasion where a number of richest people, pop stars, singers, world's celebrities, business tycoons, industrialists were present.
      The attendance of some Bollywood stars - Aishwarya Rai, Akshay Kumar, Shah Rukh Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Rani Mukherjee and pop star Kylie Minogue brought some special features in it.
     The marriage ceremony featured various programs such as Engagement party, Mehendi ceremony, wedding sangeet, Indian marriage song etc.
     The engagement program was held at the well known palace- Grand Versailles (once it was used for Louis XIV) and the glory entertained program was arranged at the Jardin des Tuileries.
      The bridal outfits were designed by Indian top designers like Tarun Tahiliani and Suneet Verma.
Vanisha's parents - Mittal and Usha - promised their daughter to give a surprise. And they really kept their words arranging such a function. Gold and diamond jewelry, fashionable bridal apparel, luxurious hotel, transportation and heavy dinner were some of the features that made wedding exclusive, attractive and really spectacular.   
      The invitation letter of Vanisha's wedding could give you another surprise. Each of the cards distributed among close friends and the relatives contained 20 pages. It was put in a silver box with romantic poems written by Mittal's family member.
      To join the Vanisha Mittal's wedding from India to France, 12 Boeing jets were hired for the guests. As part of making the ceremony memorable, the hotel was decorated with full of enjoyment. 
      There was a special arrangement for female guests. They were asked to paint their hands with henna (known as mehendi in India) and received luxurious bags.
      More than 10,000 flowers, 45 professional cooks and a grand wedding cake were some other features in that occasion. 
     A performance by Kylie Minogue the pop singer was the high-lighted attraction to the event.
     100 different dishes were prepared by a top Calcutta Chef and the wine cost $1.5 million.





Weddings are a happy time for all, especially for the guests who were able to attend the top ten most expensive weddings in history. But the thing is, cost and amount that you will spend doesn't matter, as long as you know that the person you are going to marry is the same person you want to spend your life with, waking up each morning beside each others' arms... +_+
