Cirque du Soleil appeared to thrill Doha audience members last night with its second performance in Qatar, the “East meets West” themed Dralion.
Organized into a series of separate acts, the show is at times light-hearted and humorous, and at other times so dramatic it has people holding their breath. At times, the audience is also asked to participate.
On Twitter, Dralion received fairly upbeat reviews, but not from everyone:
Today I watched Dralion by @Cirque Du Soleil in @aspirezone , what an awesome show, I was really impressed. #Qatar

Just saw Cirque de Soleil’s Dralion at Aspire. Disappointing overall, poor crowd turnout (60% empty seats?), lots of mistakes by performers.Like last year, the show is being held at the Aspire Dome. Circus-goers should park by Khalifa Stadium and either walk to the venue (which takes only a few minutes) or take the bus there.

Food and drink are not allowed to be brought in from outside, but you can buy drinks and snacks like popcorn at the concession stand.
Though some families have been put off from the show due to high ticket prices, there was enough demand for organizers to add six more shows to its Qatar tour and Dralion now runs through Sept. 28.
Tickets are still available at kiosks in Landmark and City Center malls, at the W Hotel, Aspire Dome and can be purchased online here.
